🌿 Our Story

“From a humble chapel under a baobab tree, faith took root in Msasani.”
The story of St. Peter’s Parish began humbly in the early 1950s beneath a giant baobab tree in the old fishing village of Msasani. There, a small thatched chapel became the gathering place for early believers. Through faith, determination, and the guidance of devoted clergy like Msgr. John Francis Dennis, that simple chapel grew into the thriving parish we know today.
💒 A Vibrant Community of Believers
From the early morning to evening Mass, every celebration carries joy, reverence, and song. The 9:30 AM English Mass brings together believers from all walks of life reflecting the universality of the Catholic faith.
Beyond the walls of the church, over 50 Small Christian Communities (SCCs) share prayer, fellowship, and acts of charity throughout the week.
🕊️ Serving with Heart

“Faith in action: empowering young minds and building brighter futures.”
Through projects like Lady Chesham Nursery School and the St. Peter’s Vocational Training Centre, the parish continues to serve the community providing education, skills, and opportunities for growth. The Cardinal Rugambwa Social Centre supports parish initiatives and helps sustain outreach programs.
